YUZHNIY GOK reached maximum productivity over the last 30 years

YUZHNY GOK (Krivoy Rog, Ukraine) has completed the reconstruction of two technological sections for the enrichment of magnetite quartzites. The project was implemented at the first ore processing plant. The launch of the equipment allowed the YUZHNIY GOK to produce 13.5 million tons of iron ore concentrate in 2021.

During the reconstruction, new ball mills, magnetic separators, sludge separators, and other equipment were installed. The foundations, technological platforms, metal structures were also replaced. Updated technical water, heating, aspiration networks.

Technological sections No. 9-10 were put into operation at the end of 2021. The equipment was upgraded by specialists from the plant and contractors. The reconstruction of the sections was carried out in the conditions of the operating shop.

The capacity of the sections is 3,600 tons of concentrate per day. The iron content of the product is 68.5 percent. In the enrichment scheme, the technologists applied additional stages of magnetic separation and control classification.

- This equipment was decommissioned back in the 90s due to a sharp decline in production. Now, in fact, YUZHNY GOK has built two technological sections of the first processing plant from scratch. Thanks to their commissioning, by the end of 2021, the plant reached a productivity that had not been reached for more than 30 years.

The volume of investments in the development of the YUZHNY GOK in 2021 amounted to about UAH 5 billion. This is the highest figure in the last 10 years. The main volume of investments was directed to increase the production capacity of the YUZHNY GOK, improve the quality of marketable products, and upgrade the fleet of equipment.
